How do I configure required information and find missing details?

Set required fields for employees and companies, enable the status display and identify missing information using the profile picture or company logo and the corresponding filter.

On this page

Quick answer

Configure required fields under Settings → Employees → Required fields or Settings → Company → Required fields. To show missing information in the lists, also enable Mandatory employee details or Mandatory company details under Settings → General → Status display. With the appropriate status permission, missing information is indicated by a yellow-orange border around the profile picture or company logo.

Making an email address mandatory for employees

  1. Open the relevant construction site and Settings → Employees.
  2. Select the Required fields tab and click Edit under Required fields for employees.
  3. Find Email and select Required for that field.
  4. Click Save.

Fields are grouped and can be narrowed down using Search. Optional allows the field to be left empty; Hidden hides it in the relevant form. To configure these settings, you need Can set mandatory details for employees and companies.

For companies, follow the same steps under Settings → Company → Required fields. This also includes requirements for project contacts such as the project manager or safety officer.

Enabling the status display

  1. Open Settings → General and the Status display tab.
  2. Click Edit under Subcontractor’s status.
  3. Enable Mandatory employee details and/or Mandatory company details.
  4. Save and reload the list if necessary.

Changing this display requires permission to edit the general construction site settings. To see the marker, your role also needs the corresponding permission for employee or company colour codes. If the tab or marker is missing, ask the construction site administrator to check these requirements.

Understanding the border and missing fields

  • Yellow-orange border: At least one detail required on this construction site is missing. Hover over it; the Missing required information tooltip lists the fields.
  • Blue border: A Bausicht account exists.
  • Split yellow-orange and blue border: Both conditions apply.

For companies, the marker covers both company master data and project contacts required on this construction site. In your own company’s employee management, the requirements are combined across the construction sites considered in this view that have the display enabled.

The absence of a border does not prove completeness if the display is disabled or permission is missing. The marker is only an indication and does not block access.

Showing only entries with missing required information

Open Employees or Companies → List, then More filters → Only with missing required information. The filter shows the marked entries within your visible list. It also includes employees who have never attended the site; other active filters still apply. Remove the filter using its filter chip.

The same checkbox is available among the list filters in your own company’s employee management. There, different construction sites may require a missing detail.

The document filter does not serve this purpose: Only with missing documents searches for missing supporting documents. It does not find a missing email address, phone number or other required profile detail.

Do changed required fields also apply to existing employees and companies?

Yes. Completeness is checked against the construction site’s current requirements. For example, making email mandatory later may cause existing employees to appear as incomplete. Existing values are not filled in automatically.

Required fields and the status display remain separate: disabling the status display does not make the fields optional. The applicable required-field checks still run when creating or assigning entries.
