How do I keep the construction diary?
Keeping the construction diary in Bausicht: assign the responsible construction management, document progress and special events, attach files and create a PDF.
The Construction diary is where you document every construction day: who is responsible for site management, what progress was made and which special events occurred. At the end you turn all of it into a PDF.
Quick answer
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 | Open Construction diary in the left navigation and pick the Date at the top |
| 2 | Use Select construction management to assign the responsible site management |
| 3 | Document the day via New Construction Progress and New Event |
| 4 | Use Create PDF to generate the document for that construction day |
Step 1: Open the construction diary and choose the date

Use the Date field at the top to switch between construction days. Every entry that follows always refers to the selected day.
Step 2: Assign the responsible construction management
Click Select construction management and choose the Company and the responsible construction management in the dialog.

Step 3: Document the construction progress
New Construction Progress is where you record which company performed which work on that day.

In the dialog you select the Company and describe the work in the Text field. The option Show only companies with present employees shortens the list to the companies that were actually on site that day.

Step 4: Add special events and files
The Special events / Miscellaneous section covers everything that deviates from the normal course of work – weather, obstructions, acceptances or incidents. Create an entry via New Event.
In the Files section you attach supporting documents and photos for the respective construction day.
Step 5: Create the PDF
Click Create PDF to generate the documentation of the construction day as a document.

Tip: If the work repeats from day to day, you do not have to record everything again – you can carry over the previous day’s entry and only adjust the changes.
