Router offline: check the WAN port, SIM card and antennas
- Where to find it
- Mobile router in the turnstile: WAN/LAN ports, SIM card and both externally mounted mobile antennas
- How to check the result
- Check under Access points → List whether the controller is reporting to Bausicht again and is shown as Online; after switching on, this can take 3–5 minutes.

Quick answer
First check whether a cable has been plugged into the WAN port by mistake and move it to a LAN port, such as LAN1. Test your own SIM card in a phone and disable its SIM PIN lock if enabled. Then check that both mobile antennas are properly screwed on, mounted outside the turnstile and aligned.
This guide applies to the mobile routers supplied with Bausicht turnstile equipment. First make sure the router has power and a SIM card is inserted.
Step 1: Leave the WAN port empty and use LAN
In this setup, the router will not go online if something is connected to the WAN port. The WAN port must therefore remain empty.
- Look at the side with the network ports: the WAN port is the rightmost network port. If the router is mounted upside down, it is the leftmost. Also check the WAN label on the device.
- Check whether a network cable, such as the cable from the i-door controller, has been connected there by mistake.
- Unplug that cable from the WAN port and connect it to a LAN port, such as LAN1. On the RUT200, use port 1 (LAN) and leave port 2 (WAN) empty.
Step 2: Test your own SIM card in a phone
If you use your own SIM card, the card itself may not work, or an active SIM PIN lock may prevent the connection.
- Switch off the router before removing the SIM card, then insert the card into a phone.
- Check whether the phone asks for a SIM PIN. Disable the PIN lock in the phone’s SIM settings; you will need the current SIM PIN. The phone’s screen lock is a separate setting.
- Turn Wi-Fi off and mobile data on. Check whether you can open a website using this SIM card. If the phone has multiple SIM cards, select the card being tested for mobile data.
- If the internet connection does not work in the phone either, use a working SIM card. Insert the tested card with its PIN lock disabled into the switched-off router, then switch it on.
Step 3: Check both mobile antennas
Missing, partly connected, loose or incorrectly aligned antennas can prevent the mobile connection.
- Check that both mobile antennas are present and connected.
- Check the connections on the router: both antennas must be properly and securely screwed onto the connectors labelled “mobile”.
- Mount both antennas outside the turnstile. Do not leave them inside the housing.
- Check their alignment. Where possible, point the antennas in two directions, as shown in the wiring guide.
Step 4: Check the connection again
After making these changes, check under Access points → List whether the connected turnstile is shown as Online again. After switching on, this can take 3–5 minutes. This status shows whether the controller is reporting to Bausicht.
If the turnstile stays offline, continue with the troubleshooting guide. For a support request, have the construction site, controller ID and checks already completed ready.
