How do I send an access QR code by email or SMS?

Send access QR codes to employees, check recipient details and understand SMS credit or an unclear delivery status.

On this page

Quick answer

Open Employees, select the person and choose Access → Send QR code. Select an available delivery method, check the recipient details and send the QR code. An access card eligible for sending must exist.

Requirements

For email, you need Can send access card QR code by email; for SMS, Can send access card QR code by SMS. Available delivery methods depend on your permissions. SMS delivery requires the employee’s consent and sufficient SMS credit on the construction site.

Sending by email

  1. Select Email if both delivery methods are offered.
  2. Check or enter the Email address.
  3. Use Save email address for employee to also store the address, if this option is available.
  4. Send the QR code and check the response.

If delivery to the address is blocked or sending could not be started, follow the error message. A saved address alone does not confirm successful sending or delivery.

Sending by SMS

  1. Select SMS.
  2. Enter the Phone number with country code.
  3. If needed, store the number using Save phone number for employee, if offered.
  4. Confirm The employee agrees to receive this SMS.
  5. Send the QR code and check the response.

If the SMS credit has been used up, contact Bausicht support. Users with the appropriate permissions can also view the credit under Settings → General → General.

If the dialog shows an unclear delivery status, another request with the same details checks the status without sending another SMS. Do not change the details just to bypass an unclear response; contact support if needed.

What does the employee receive?

By email, the employee receives the QR code as an image in the message and as a PNG attachment. An SMS contains a personal link that opens a page with the QR code and Download QR code, without requiring a Bausicht login. The employee can present it at a suitable QR reader. The construction site’s access rules still apply. The link should not be shared.

On an SMS card link, the recipient can select Stop receiving SMS and confirm. This unsubscribes the phone number from access-card SMS messages for all companies and construction sites. The validity of the access card and existing card links is unaffected.

Sending the QR code immediately after creating a card

If QR code sufficient is enabled under Settings → General → General, the automatic printing/RFID flow is skipped when creating the card. With permission to send it, Send QR code opens immediately. To send it later, use the employee’s Access tab.
